HARMONY FOR HUMANITY FOUNDATION AND INTERNATIONAL AWARD-WINNING DJ SKINNYRICH LAUNCH GLOBAL MENSTRUAL HYGIENE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS INITIATIVES

Humanitarian Movement to Support Girls and Women Through Menstrual Health Education, Human Rights Advocacy, and Hygiene Package Distribution in Ghana and Sierra Leone
AFRICA| GHANA | SIERRA LEONE | MAY 2026 — Harmony for Humanity Foundation, in collaboration with internationally acclaimed humanitarian, cultural ambassador, and award-winning entertainer DJ SkinnyRich (Dr. Christopher Rowe), has announced the launch of a major international humanitarian campaign in observance of Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026, aimed at advancing menstrual health awareness, human rights, gender equality, education, and dignity for girls and women across Africa.
The initiative, operating under the theme:
“Periods Are Normal: Empower Girls Through Menstrual Hygiene”
will focus on awareness, advocacy, education, and the distribution of menstrual hygiene packages to vulnerable girls and young women in Ghana and Sierra Leone, while strengthening partnerships aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The campaign is being coordinated through Harmony for Humanity Foundation, a global humanitarian organization dedicated to uniting cultures, restoring hope, and building futures through health, education, empowerment, peacebuilding, and sustainable development initiatives.
A HUMANITARIAN RESPONSE TO A GLOBAL CHALLENGE
Despite global progress in healthcare and education, millions of girls continue to face significant barriers due to menstrual stigma, lack of sanitary products, inadequate hygiene facilities, and misinformation surrounding menstruation.
These challenges contribute to:
School absenteeism
Gender inequality
Poor health outcomes
Emotional distress
Social exclusion
Period poverty
Harmony for Humanity Foundation believes that menstrual health is not simply a women’s issue but a matter of dignity, public health, education, and fundamental human rights.
The campaign seeks to address these challenges through practical interventions and community engagement.
MENSTRUAL HEALTH IS A HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUE
The campaign recognizes menstrual health as directly linked to:
The Right to Health
The Right to Education
The Right to Dignity
The Right to Equality
The Right to Water and Sanitation
The Right to Participation
The Right to Freedom from Discrimination
According to campaign organizers, no girl should be denied educational opportunities, healthcare access, or social participation because of a natural biological process.
Dr. Onika Campbell-Rowe, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Harmony for Humanity Foundation, stated:
> “Menstrual hygiene is more than a health issue—it is a human rights issue. Every girl deserves the opportunity to manage her period safely, confidently, and with dignity. Through this initiative, we are not only distributing sanitary products; we are restoring hope, promoting education, protecting health, and empowering future generations of women and girls.”
DJ SKINNYRICH CHAMPIONS MENSTRUAL DIGNITY THROUGH CULTURAL HUMANITARIANISM
Joining the campaign is internationally recognized humanitarian advocate, music executive, and cultural ambassador DJ SkinnyRich, whose work continues to bridge entertainment, advocacy, and social impact.
As a co-founder and global ambassador for humanitarian initiatives under Harmony for Humanity Foundation, DJ SkinnyRich is using his international platform to raise awareness and mobilize support for menstrual health initiatives throughout Africa and the Caribbean.
DJ SkinnyRich remarked:
> “A healthy society is one where every girl is respected, protected, and empowered. Menstrual hygiene is not just a women’s issue—it is a community issue. Through music, culture, advocacy, and humanitarian action, we have the power to break the silence, end stigma, and ensure that no girl is left behind because of her period.”
